    List of Ingredients

    • Crumb Crust Topping:
    • 1 2/3 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/8 teaspoon salt
    • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
    • 1 1/3 cups packed brown sugar
    • 1 cup margarine
    • Filling:
    • 1 (1 pound and 11 ounce) package frozen blackberries*
    • 1/3 cup plus 1 teaspoon sugar
    • 1/8 cup cornstarch
    • 1 tablespoon water
    • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
    • * Black Raspberries, Boysenberries or Marionberries may be used for variations

    Instructions

    1. For Crumb Crust Topping: Combine flour, salt, rolled oats, brown sugar and margarine (cut into small pieces). Mix until at crumb like consistency. Press half of the crumb mixture firmly into bottom of 13x9x2" pan. Save the rest of the crumb mixture for later.
    2. For Filling: Combine berries and sugar and bring to a boil. Dissolve cornstarch in cold water and slowly add to berries. Cook until thickened, approximately 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Add lemon juice to filling.
    3. Pour filling onto crust. Sprinkle rest of crumb mixture evenly over top of berry filling in pan. Bake until top is lightly browned in oven at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool before portioning into 1/2 cup servings.
