Green Beans: Spanish Green Beans

- 3/4 cup chopped onion
- 5 1/2 cups frozen cut green beans
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon dried minced garlic
- 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can stewed tomatoes, undrained
- 1/3 cup light ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Hormel bacon bits
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- In a large skillet sprayed with butter flavor cooking spray, saute onion until tender, about 5 minutes.
- Add green beans, water and garlic. Mix well to combine. Lower heat. Cover and simmer 20 minutes or until beans are tender.
- Add undrained tomatoes, ketchup, bacon bits and black pepper. Mix well to combine. Continue cooking 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Makes 6 (1 cup) servings at 97 calories per cup.
