Sweet and Sour Meatballs
List of Ingredients
Meatballs:
1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
2 eggs
3/4 c. matzo meal or bread crumbs
Sauce:
1/2 c. club soda
1/4 c. minced onion
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 c. light brown sugar
1 (10¾-oz.) can tomato soup
1/2 soup can of water
1 (8-oz.) can tomato sauce
1/4 c. ketchup

Serves 10 to 12 as appetizer.
Mix the ground beef, eggs and matzo meal together in a medium bowl. Form
1-inch meatballs. Set aside. Mix club soda, minced onion, salt, lemon juice,
brown sugar, tomato soup, water, tomato sauce and ketchup together in a
large saucepan or kettle. Simmer for 10 minutes. Drop meatballs into sauce,
one by one. Simmer for one hour, stirring occasionally, and carefully, with
a wooden spoon.
