    1 stick butter (1/4 lb.)
    1/2 cup Crisco shortening
    4 Tblsp. cocoa
    1 cup water
    2 cups sugar
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 eggs (well beaten)
    3/4 cup buttermilk
    1 teaspoon soda
    1 teaspoon vanilla

    Icing:
    1 stick butter (1/4 lb.)
    4 Tblsp. cocoa
    6 Tblsp. buttermilk
    1 (l lb.) box confectioner's sugar
    1 cup chopped pecans








    Recipe



    Combine and bring to boil:
    1 stick butter (1/4 lb.)
    1/2 cup Crisco shortening
    4 Tblsp. cocoa
    1 cup water
    Remove from heat and add:
    2 cups sugar
    2 cups all-purpose flour
    Slowly combine both mixtures.
    Add:
    2 eggs (well beaten)
    3/4 cup buttermilk
    1 teaspoon soda
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    Thoroughly mix by hand.
    Grease and flour a 9x13 dish or
    pan. Pour batter into dish and
    bake at 350° for 25-30 minutes.
    Icing:
    Combine and bring to boil:
    1 stick butter (1/4 lb.)
    4 Tblsp. cocoa
    6 Tblsp. buttermilk
    Remove from heat and add:
    1 (l lb.) box confectioner's sugar
    1 cup chopped pecans
    Mix until smooth and pour
    over hot cake
