ICED SUGAR COOKIES
List of Ingredients
Ingredients:
1 lb. butter, softened
1 cup light brown sugar
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
2 egg yolks
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. salt
4 cups of flour
Recipe
Preparation Instructions:
Mix together butter, sugars, egg yolks, vanilla and salt. Add flour,
then chill the batter.
On a floured surface, roll out chilled dough to about 1/2-inch to
1/4-inch thickness. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters.
On ungreased cookie sheets, bake at 350 degrees for eight to 10
minutes until just lightly brown. Do not overcook or cookies won't be
soft. Ice after cookies cool.
ICING
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tbsp. butter or margarine
3 tbsp. milk
food coloring, if desired
Combine sugar, butter and milk until icing is smooth and easy to
spread. Add a few drops of food coloring if desired.
Note: Prepared store frosting can be substituted for the homemade icing.
