Elaine Wermich's barbecued hamburgers
List of Ingredients
1 pound lean ground beef
1 tablespoon margarine, melted
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green pepper, finely chopped
2 tablespoons sugar
1 tablespoon vinegar
2 tablespoons dried mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1 18-ounce bottle ketchup
Recipe
Brown meat in melted shortening.
Chop onion and green pepper and add with rest of ingredients to
ground browned meat.
Cover and simmer slowly for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Makes 6 to 8 sandwiches, depending upon the size of the hamburger buns.
