North Carolina-Style Meat Loaf

List of Ingredients
2 lbs. lean ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 egg, beaten
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 (8-oz.) can tomato sauce, divided
1/2 cup water
2 Tbsp. cider vinegar
3 Tbsp. dark brown sugar
2 Tbsp. prepared mustard
2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Recipe
Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion,
egg, salt, pepper, 1/2 can of tomato sauce
and water. Mix together well. Form into a
loaf shape and place in shallow 7x10-inch
pan.
In a saucepan, combine cider vinegar, brown
sugar, prepared mustard, rest of tomato
sauce and Worcestershire sauce. Bring
mixture to boil. Pour sauce over meatloaf.
Bake at 350º F. for 1 hour 15 minutes.
Baste occasionally. Serve hot.
