Beef Stroganoff
List of Ingredients
4 T. butter, divided
2 T. blour
1 1/2 c. beef broth
1 med. onion, diced
1 c. fresh mushrooms, sliced (I use maybe 1 1/2 c.)
1 lb. beef sirloin or round steak, cut into 1 1/2" strips
6 oz. dairy sour cream
4 c. c. noodles, cooked (or 1 lg. pkg.)
Recipe
Sauce. Melt 2 T. butter in a saucepan. Whisk in the flour and cook for 3
minutes, stirring constantly. Slowly whisk in the broth. Reduce the heat and
simmer 15 minutes, stirring frequently.
Melt remaining 2 T. butter in a skillet. Add the onions, beef, and
mushrooms. Cook until onion is soft and the meat has browned. Pour the sauce
over the mixture and simmer for 30 minutes. Whisk in the sour cream and heat
for 3 minutes longer. Serve over warm, cooked noodles.
