Company Steak With Mushroom-onion Toppin
List of Ingredients
1 Tablespoon Vegetable Oil
2 Cloves Garlic -- minced
Freshly Ground Pepper -- to taste
4 Beef Fillets -- about 6 oz. ea.
Salt to Taste
Mushroom-onion Topping:
1/4 Cup Butter or Margarine
1 Yellow Onion -- sliced and separated into rings
4 Green Onions, Including Some Tender Green
Tops -- sliced
1/2 Pound Fesh Mushrooms -- sliced
3 Tablespoons Chopped Fresh Parsley
1 Teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
1 Tablespoon Red Wine -- Optional
1 Teaspoon Soy Sauce
Salt and Freshly Ground Pepper to Taste
Recipe
Preheat broiler. In a small bowl stir together oil, garlic, and pepper.
Brush mixture on both sides of fillets. Place fillets on broiler pan. Broil,
turning once, 5 to 6 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
Transfer to warmed platter or individual plates and season with salt. Top
with Mushroom-Onion Topping and serve immediately.
For Mushroom-Onion Topping: In a skillet, over medium-low heat, melt butter.
Add onions and saute' stirring frequently, 3 minutes. Add mushrooms and
parsley and saute' until vegetables are tender, about 5 minutes longer. Add
worcestershire sauce, wine, soy sauce, salt, and pepper and saute until
ingredients are blended, 2 minutes longer. Serves 4.
