    List of Ingredients

    1/2 cup milk
    2 cups unsifted flour
    1/4 cup sugar
    1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup butter or margarine
    1/4 cup warm water
    1 package yeast
    1 egg, beaten
    2 8-ounce packages cream cheese
    1/2 cup sugar
    2 egg yolks
    2 tablespoons lemon juice
    1 teaspoon grated lemon rind
    1 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped mixed candied fruit

    Recipe

Scald milk and cool to lukewarm. In large bowl combine flour, 1/4 cup sugar,
1 teaspoon grated lemon rind and salt. Cut in 1/2 cup butter until mixture
resembles coarse meal. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to flour
mixture. Add milk and 1 egg. Combine lightly. Cover tightly; refrigerate for
at least 2 hours or up to 2 days. Divide dough in half. Dough will be soft
and sticky. On well-floured board roll half to 1/8-inch thickness. Cut into
4-1/2-inch circles. Place in ungreased tart pans. Repeat with remaining
dough. Fill with cheese filling and sprinkle with crumb topping. Bake at 400
degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Cream together cream cheese and sugar until
light and fluffy. Stir in egg yolks, lemon juice and lemon rind. Mix until
well blended. Add nutmeg and candied fruit. Fill tarts. Combine 2/3 cup
sugar, 1/2 cup unsifted flour, 2 teaspoons cinnamon and 6 tablespoons butter
or margarine. Mix until crumbly. Sprinkle over tarts. Makes 1-1/2 dozen
    tarts.
