    Chicken and Shrimp a la Italiano

    List of Ingredients




    1 lb. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut in pieces
    1 lb. shrimp, cleaned
    1 cube margarine or butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
    1/4 tsp. black pepper
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 bay leaf, crumbled
    3 cloves garlic, minced
    1 large onion, chopped
    1 large green bell pepper, chopped
    1 rib celery, sliced
    2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    2 tsp. lemon juice
    1 tomato, cut in wedges


    Recipe



    Cut chicken and shrimp into bite-sized pieces. Combine salt, cayenne pepper, black pepper, oregano, and bay leaf. In separate bowls, sprinkle half over chicken and half over shrimp pieces, and mix each well.

    In large skillet, melt margarine or butter. Saute chicken until meat turns color. With slotted spoon, scoop meat out and set aside, leaving margarine in pan. Saute shrimp in same margarine until pink. Scoop out shrimp and set aside. Saute garlic, onion, bell pepper and celery in remaining margarine. Add Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice and tomatoes. Return all ingredients to pan and simmer about 3 minutes.
    Serve over cooked pasta (spaghetti, linguini, penne) or rice.

    Serves 6.
