    List of Ingredients




    2 1/4 lb. lean, boneless beef chuck, cut in 3/4" pieces
    1 c. coarsely chopped onion
    2 cloves garlic, minced
    1 T. vegetable oil
    1 tsp. salt
    28 oz. can plum tomatoes, broken up
    1 c. water
    6 oz. can tomato paste
    3 T. chili powder
    1 tsp. dried oregano
    1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
    1 c. chopped green pepper

    Recipe



    Brown beef, onion and garlic in oil in a large pan or pot. Pour off drippings. Sprinkle with salt. Add next 6 ingredients (tomatoes through red pepper). Cover tightly and simmer 1 1/2 hr. or until beef is tender. Add green pepper and continue cooking, uncovered, about 30 minutes.
