Homemade Spaghetti Sauce

2 tb Olive oil
2 lg Garlic cloves; minced
1/2 c Onion; chopped
1 ts Dried basil
1 ts Dried parsley flakes
1/2 ts Black pepper
1/2 ts Dried oregano
1 ts Salt
1 can 28-oz. crushed tomatoes
1 can 28-oz. tomato pureeRecipe
Heat olive oil over med-low heat in a 3-qt. saucepan. Add garlic. Stir and cook until golden brown. Add onion and cook until soft and golden, stirring frequently. Add seasonings and tomato products. Bring to a boil at med-high, then reduce to low, cover loosely, and simmer 30 mins., stirring occasionally. For meat sauce - add 1/2 to 1 pound freshly browned ground beef or sausage when you add the tomato products.
