    This is great for a party.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup butter
    • 3 cups sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 6 teaspoons baking powder
    • 2 teaspoons salt
    • 3 1/2 cups unsifted flour
    • 2 teaspoons vanilla
    • 2 cups milk
    • grated rind of 2 large lemons


    Instructions


    1. In a bowl, cream butter, beat in sugar gradually, til light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time. Add baking powder and salt, mix well. Add flour alternately with combined vanilla and milk, beginning and ending with flour and mixing until thoroughly blended and smooth. Fold in grated lemon rind.
    2. Pour into a greased and floured 13 1/2 x 17 x 1 inch aluminum tray. Bake in preheated 350 degree F. oven for 30 minutes or til cake is nicely browned and will spring back to touch. Allow to cool.
    3. When cool, frost cake and cut into squares. Cake will make 36 2 1/2 inch squares.
